The development and expansion of the internet and email has brought people closer together via a new and different medium. As a consequence counselling through email and the telephone is expanding and has its place. Whilst there is no substitute for a face to face relationship there is a value for certain individuals to communicate on this basis who might not otherwise be able to obtain help, information and guidance. In its simplest form Emails are exchanged within a 24 hour time frame. Alternatively a session can take place at a pre-arranged time for a specific period with both parties on-line simultaneously, exchanging messages in rapid succession, effectively having a ongoing dialogue by email. These formats are suitable for those living in remote locations without access to therapists, those unable to travel and those confined to their home or living accommodation. Please make contact by telephone or email for more information. |
